mutual musik was founded by the musician johannes beck and the graphic designer fine heininger – also known as the djane fine musique. with mutual musik they create a platform for their very own perspective on current club music. inspired by different musical styles, they realize their most personal passions and visions and impress the audience with such listening experiences. the focus of attention is the interaction, each of the people taking part have their specific capabilities and are enriching the existing order. shared ideas are interwoven to create new sound compositions.

after the big success of pascal feos longplayer terrabong, levelnonzero is coming up with the first part, of a three part serie. on this collection will be tracks of artists and friends which already have released on levelnonzero, as a track of a newcomers they signed for this project. the first strike will be headed by mihai popoviciu, one of the current top djs from rumania. the labelmanger himselfe chris wood is coming up with a new track, that is produced together with his friend domenico d agnelli from munich. frank leicher, part of the levelnonzero family brings in his typical minimal house sound and luca bear, a new talent from italy closes this release with a strong floorfiller.

jay haze aka fuckponys superb ode to love in general and loved-up ravers in particular provides us with another sparkling gem: the second single from his current lp has the equally romantic and revealing title >i m burning inside<. it allows us to clearly feel that love-fuelled power, but never lets us get close enough to the fire to get seriously burned. jays sound is simply a tad too cool for that. despite all the emotional appeal, he always keeps a wink in store to save us right at the brink. the remixers reboot and paul ritch give far more obvious signals. both of them say loud and clear: dance!

for more than six years now, the dj and producer julian jeweil belongs to the up-n-coming electronic music scene in marseille, cultural centre of the french riviera. with his air conditionné ep on electric rescues skryptom label in 2006, he provided the scene with a true consensus hit, and further collaborations with and remixes for oxia, scan x, danton eeprom or sébastien léger have cemented his reputation as one of the most promising young talents in electronic dance music. his current ep for cocoon stands for uncompromising and demanding techno in its purest form: from the initially more sizzling sound layer in color emerges after two minutes in the first break a hysterically screaming >saw of sinus<, where you almost seem to hear the screams of the people echoing on the dancefloor. >amore< builds up more streamline-like in the style of steve bug, but: dont panic - you will also hear some really demanding breaks in this one. all the hands go up!

side a: features “depth of my soul” soulful and deep house blend in this down tempo jam. but slower bpms only add style and atmosphere to the track. side b: where is the compassion - the soulful component is still pretty strong yet. it designs a journey through feelings, typical of a warehouse rave. again echoes of a recent past, still very poignant. vibes reveals a more jazzy/boogie ambient. to many ears those vibes shared are not mysterious at all in the origin. still this is a very cool, current adaptation to the dancefloor. massive release!!

the a side is delivered by label-mate thomas muller, whose finely detailed techno soundscapes can now be enjoyed on five bpc 12 inch releases. his >immolate< remix takes a much more direct approach. he reduces the lush arrangement of the original to a powerful basic framework, leaves out the vocals almost entirely, and creates a surprise when the track crumbles into sonic chaos towards the end.
miss fitz aka maayan nidam has had singles released on labels including raum musik and freak n chic, and these have been remixed by renowned artists such as ricardo villalobos. her version of >immolate< also makes a clear break from the album track and serves up her very own brand of abstract, dancefloor-friendly house. once again, all the opulence of the original is thrown overboard, a dry beat is placed at the centre of the arrangement and enriched with sinuous vocals.
ben klock needs no further introduction - he is the epitome of the bleak, hard minimal sound. his album >one< is currently available on ostgut ton, and as a remixer he has earned the highest acclaim for his version of depeche modes >peace<. bens >jack mix< is fittingly titled and lives up to all the expectations of the name. the track is stripped back to a resounding, hammer-like beat framework - minimised for maximum effect.
bpitch legend sascha funke delivers a surprise with another astoundingly reduced remix, at least by his standards. he turns away from the melodic richness of his current album >mango< in favour of repetitive fragments and an extended arc of tension which will surely make his >immolate< remix a massive after-hour hit.

a sick collection of secret armand van helden cut and paste 80s tracks. lots of nu wave stuff going on with big euro samples getting van heldens midas touch. twins of pleasure is the favourite cut, with its pulsing retro bassline line and banging drums. the hilarous ktu track is another goody that wrecks a freestyle sample with ny radio station ktu ids on it. with all the current interest in the 80s, this is a really fun take on the idea.

the travel reports of the wilderness ep part 1 & 2 follows a documentation of a time when the cheapers were together in a dark vault and they were only attending the on going outer world through a >white hole<. in chapter a1 they report about the mondane mess that interfuses through the small opening into their facultative dungeon. they aim towards their profile and fill their surface with melody and intoxication. b1 describes basseruptions in front of the white house and while buzzing, pouring oil onto the strings of their piano, to proove the efficiency of renewable soundenergies. their mission was succesfully kept a secret until rising winds released the manuskript blowing them out of the darkness to the cd of the current groove-magazine. finally all parts are official and available on upon you records.

jesper dahlback is one of swedens leading djs/ producers with a lengthy back catalogue to his name, including co-production on two tiga albums, the hugg and pepp project with cousin john dahlback, and remixes for the likes of rex the dog, zoo brazil, arnaud rebotini of black strobe, thomas p heckman, robyn, the knife, and depeche mode. jesper has music in his genes, but it was the musical movements in detroit, berlin and london that inspired him to start producing techno, back in 1991 in his bedroom studio. completely hooked, by 1993 he d formed the stockholm-based globe studios together with peter benisch and adam beyer (following a chance meeting on the train to love parade?) and has worked there ever since. in 1996 jesper started the imprint, blank, mainly for his own material, and simultaneously launched joint venture dk with thomas krome - one of the first labels in sweden with a techno house crossover approach! in addition to making music for various techno labels around the world and working with planet rhythm, jesper met up with swiss-born stephan grieder who had just started the svek label. the duo started to experiment with different sounds, drawing on house musics roots, utilising vocals and acoustic instruments. jesper now describes his sound as >ranging between the analogue sounds of the roland sh101 and the precision mathematics of my computer. i m a researcher and developer of unheard sounds! since the founding of globe studios, i have always been looking for new ways to bend the rules and test the unknown. when i dj, i just play my own productions blending old classics with new unreleased demos.< a producer first and foremost, jespers dj dates find him weaving a soundscape of his productions, remixes and collaborations with new material at every gig, as well as musical elements and sounds worked through the set. one of his favourite current ventures is his part in jori hulkkonens acid symphony orchestra.

in perfect timing for the 10th bpitch control birthday, thomas muller presents his third solo release. born in paris, the berlin-elect has been in the city for about 2 years. certainly his current location has left an indelible mark on thomas creations - his deep and highly detailed soundscapes were already evident in the last release, >seduction< - a clear idiom into an increasingly dark realm. his current work continues consitently and ambitiously in the same vein.

a ton of steel and pipes used as instruments? à driving steel beats, accompanied by synthesizer sounds and experimental industrial samples create the sound of pale musics premiere release >phsychomania<. for sure this record, presented by matt eno and steve morell, head of pale music, is no easy listening. five bands / projects come together on this sampler, all of them top name current level of electronic and industrial music. from time to time the music appears to be dark and eerie. guest vocalists include luna di morph and rosa lee riza.

disconet was created as subscription program service, which professionally selected and mixed disco music for discotheque djs, mobile discos and radio stations. disconet is called as the granddaddy of all remix services and provided mixed/segued dj dance sets, not only to make the djs job a little bit easier, but to expose club goers to new music. the djs spinning at the height of the disco era were given access to a new creative tool - a different interpretation of current dance tunes to wow club goers. originally, the disconet records were to be issued on a monthly basis which were limited to 1000 - 1500 copies of each volume. the first disconet record was released in october 1977. disconet team at that time was: tom savarese, bobby dj guttadaro and kevin guilmet as well as mike wilkinson. tom, bobby and kevin were dj legends, who had already been awarded with the dj of the year title by billboard. these greatest hits volumes contain their finest work, the original licensed disco edits of all the floor fillers of the time that have been re issued for your listening pleasure. expect many more volumes in the near future.

as costello continues to look long, the grooves continue to flow. lng3 sees the reissue of the deep house classic pleite which originally appeared on trapez in 2003. recorded in dublin in 2002, this version has been mastered at dubplates and mastering, berlin in 2009. the results are stunning and serve as a welcome reminder of costelloÆs deep roots. pleite (costello dub) in particular could teach some of todayÆs hyperactive producers a thing or two about setting up a solid groove and letting it sit. the timing of this reissue could not be more perfect with regard to the current musical zeitgeist. the title, a german colloquialism for broke or indeed bankrupt which was an in-joke at the time of the original release, takes on a new significance in the context of global economic recession.
